Football Game Preview: South Plantation Paladins vs. Stranahan Mighty Dragons

The South Plantation Paladins will head out on the road to square off against the Stranahan Mighty Dragons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (South Plantation has three straight wins, Stranahan has seven straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

South Plantation's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 54-0 victory over Northeast. The Paladins' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Kamary Cooper continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 186 yards and four touchdowns on only ten carries. Thanks to that big game, he is now up to 11 rushing touchdowns on the season. Another player making a difference was Nixon Kalish, who threw for 87 yards and a pair of TDs.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: South Plantation was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 273 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 153 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to South Plantation's defense and their four sacks. In that department, Semaj Brown was the leader with two. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one sack the last three times he's played. South Plantation received some extra help from Terrence Simpson, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Meanwhile, Stranahan fell victim to Somerset Academy and their airtight defense on Friday. They had to suffer through a 35-0 loss at the hands of the Panthers.

Stranahan's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for South Plantation, their record now sits at 4-1.

Things could have been worse for South Plantation, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 40-21 loss to Stranahan in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Paladins avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
