Basketball Recap: Juarez-Lincoln Huskies vs. Palmview Lobos

Juarez-Lincoln was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They were dealt a 73-28 loss at the hands of the Palmview Lobos. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Huskies this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 74-17 back in November of 2024.

Palmview had a senior duo take command as Nicole Flores went 8 for 19 on her way to 24 points and five steals and Mia Rojas went 9 of 22 on her way to 25 points and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Rojas has scored all season. Halley Tello was another key player, putting up eight points along with seven boards and seven steals.

Juarez-Lincoln's defeat dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Palmview, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season.

Juarez-Lincoln will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Roma at 6:00 p.m. As for Palmview, they will head out to face off against Rio Grande City at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Rio Grande City comes in on six and Palmview on ten.
