Baseball Recap: Preston Takes a Loss

If Preston was feeling good fresh off their 12-1 takedown of Pocatello on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Indians took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Thunder on Thursday. The Indians were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Thunder earlier this season, when they won 12-1.

Preston saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Conner Thomson, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one triple and one run. Trisden Wall was another, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

Preston has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for Pocatello, they pushed their record up to 7-13 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Preston wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 18-0 defeat against Marsh Valley on the 19th. As for Pocatello, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 9-6 victory against Madison on the 19th.
