Volleyball Recap: O'connor's Winning Streak Snapped at Ten Games

After a string of ten wins, O'Connor's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Brophy College Prep Broncos. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Broncos earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

O'Connor started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 24-26, 25-15, 25-23, 25-22.

Their offense was headlined by Noah Kaoni and Chayce Mondino, who picked up 14 kills apiece. They got some help from Jack Slight and his 31 assists. He was also solid from the service line: he led the team with four aces.

Jude Keane was the offensive standout of the contest as he had eight digs and three aces. That's the most aces he has posted since back in April of 2024.

O'Connor's loss dropped their record down to 27-9-1. As for Brophy College Prep, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 25-10.

O'Connor didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Boulder Creek on the 1st. Brophy College Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
