Basketball Recap: Okeechobee Takes a Loss

Okeechobee played a tough contest on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Treasure Coast Titans, falling 59-16. While losing is never fun, the Brahmans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 498th, while the Titans are ranked 233rd).

Taliyah Brown had a dynamite game for Treasure Coast, going 7 for 11 en route to 15 points and six steals. Brown is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Justice Alexis, who posted six points and five rebounds.

Okeechobee dropped their record down to 2-15 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road. As for Treasure Coast, the win got them back to even at 11-11.

Okeechobee will head out on the road to face off against South Fork at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Okeechobee is facing South Fork at the right time seeing as South Fork is stuck on a 16-game losing streak. As for Treasure Coast, they will host Vero Beach at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Treasure Coast will also cruise into their next game with the timing on their side: Vero Beach will have lost six straight heading into Wednesday's matchup.
