Softball Recap: Manor New Tech Has No Trouble Against Austin Achieve

Manor New Tech's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 20-3 margin over the Austin Achieve Polar Bears. The result was nothing new for Manor New Tech, who have now won six matchups by 17 runs or more so far this season.

Lelani Ceballos was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one walk in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Natalia Castro was a standout: she scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Isabella Alaniz, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Manor New Tech has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-4-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. Austin Achieve's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Manor New Tech will head out to face off against LBJ Austin at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Austin Achieve, they will venture away from home to square off against Lago Vista at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lago Vista will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something Austin Achieve surely won't give up without a fight.
