Crater entered their tilt with Pleasant Valley on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They snuck past the Pleasant Valley Vikings with a 59-55 win. Given the Comets' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 25th in Oregon, while the Vikings are ranked 829th in California), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Anthony Sanchez and Keith Thompson certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Sanchez went 6 for 10 on his way to 17 points and five rebounds, while Thompson went 8 of 19 on his way to 18 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas Bensen, who posted six points.

Crater's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Pleasant Valley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

Crater will host Redmond at 2:30 p.m. on December 27th. Pleasant Valley and Clovis East will round out the year against one another at at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday.
