While Alvarado's win against Benbrook wasn't quite the blowout they won the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Alvarado Indians skirted past the Benbrook Bobcats 9-7. The Indians have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bobcats on Saturday, too.

Alvarado got a big performance out of Payton Slovak, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Slovak has been hot recently, having also posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Xitlilac Tapia, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.

Alvarado is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. Benbrook moved to 7-6 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Coming up, Alvarado will square off against Hillsboro at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hillsboro knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Alvarado likes a good challenge. As for Benbrook, they will head out on the road to challenge Southwest at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
