Basketball Game Preview: Culver Academies Eagles vs. Lowell Red Devils

The Culver Academies Eagles will take on the Lowell Red Devils in a tournament on Saturday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Saturday, Culver Academies was able to grind out a solid victory over South Bend Riley, taking the game 57-45.

Culver Academies' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Hannah Kresser, who went 5 of 7 on her way to 12 points and four steals. The dominant performance gave Kresser a new career-high in steals. Another player making a difference was Piper Brumm, who went 5 for 10 en route to 16 points.

Meanwhile, Lowell beat Hobart 37-26 on Thursday.

Lowell's win came from a few key players Culver Academies will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Elysia Laub, who posted eight points in addition to 15 rebounds and seven blocks. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 8.1 boards per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Reagan Claus, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Culver Academies has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.3 points per game. As for Lowell, their win bumped their record up to 11-6.
