While Tri-Valley's victory against North Schuylkill wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bulldogs sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over the Spartans on Thursday. Winning may never get old, but the Bulldogs sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Kora Rodichok spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Tri-Valley's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Lydia Rodichok, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Tri-Valley's win bumped their record up to 16-5. As for North Schuylkill, they moved to 12-2 with that defeat, which also ended their ten-game winning streak.
Looking ahead, Tri-Valley will challenge Pine Grove at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cardinals have averaged an impressive 9.5 runs per game this season. North Schuylkill does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
