Baseball Game Preview: Maine West Warriors vs. Vernon Hills Cougars

For the second straight game, Maine West will face off against Vernon Hills. The Warriors will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against the Cougars at 4:45 p.m. Maine West is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.

On Monday, Maine West didn't have quite enough to beat Vernon Hills and fell 3-2.

For Vernon Hills' part, they got a great performance from Jake Levitan as he didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave Levitan a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

On the hitting side, Vernon Hills saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Simeon Friedman, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

With the win, Vernon Hills broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 9-19. As for Maine West, their loss dropped their record down to 7-18.
