Baseball Recap: Payson Wins Going Away Against Tonopah Valley

Payson saw some tournament action on Thursday. They blew past the Tonopah Valley Phoenix 14-2.

Landon Hansen and Nolan Keeney did most of the damage at the plate: Hansen went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI, while Keeney went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Hunter Hoff, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-1.

Payson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in four consecutive games dating back to last season.

Payson now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Tonopah Valley, they now have a losing record of 0-1-1.

Payson didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 win against Blue Ridge on the 28th. As for Tonopah Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 4-2 defeat against Kingman on the 28th.
