Volleyball Recap: Fulton Steamers vs. Dixon Dukes & Duchesses
Fulton lost to Dixon back in October of 2016, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Fulton Steamers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Dixon Dukes & Duchesses.
It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Fulton got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 19-25, 15-12.
Despite the loss, Dixon had strong showings from Yui Santos, who had 11 digs, and Presley Lappin, who had five digs and ten assists. What's more, Santos also racked up no aces, the mostshe's had since back in October of 2023.
Fulton is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7-1 record this season. As for Dixon, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-6.
Fulton will face off against Milledgeville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Dixon has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Erie-Prophetstown on the 5th.
