Basketball Game Preview: Wasatch Academy Tigers vs. Bishop O'Connell Knights

The Wasatch Academy Tigers and the Bishop O'Connell Knights will compete for holiday cheer at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wasatch Academy is coming into the match hot, having won their last eight games.

Last Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Wasatch Academy beat St. Raymond Boys 62-58.

Wasatch Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isiah Harwell, who posted 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of James Miller, who earned 14 points.

Meanwhile, Bishop O'Connell and Sidwell Friends (ranked 62nd and 13th in the MaxPreps national rankings respectively) squared off in a high-profile contest on Saturday. Bishop O'Connell slipped by Sidwell Friends 46-45. The 46-point effort marked the Knights' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Bishop O'Connell's win came from a few key players Wasatch Academy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Shane Lincoln, who had nine points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Aiden Caulker, who put up ten points and three steals.

The victory was the sixth in a row for Bishop O'Connell, bringing their record for this year to 6-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.8 points per game. As for Wasatch Academy, their record now sits at 8-1.
