Basketball Game Preview: Tolono Unity Rockets vs. Prairie Central Hawks

The Tolono Unity Rockets will head out on the road to challenge the Prairie Central Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Tolono Unity has nine straight victories, Prairie Central has seven straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Tolono Unity will bounce into Friday's game after beating Bloomington Central Catholic, who they had gone 1-6 against in their seven prior meetings. Tolono Unity took down Bloomington Central Catholic 67-49 on Tuesday. 67 seems to be a good number for the Rockets as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.

Meanwhile, Prairie Central came up short against Monticello on Tuesday and fell 55-43.

Prairie Central's defeat dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Tolono Unity, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.

Tolono Unity didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Prairie Central when the teams last played back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 60-56 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Tolono Unity since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
