Soccer Game Preview: Monte Vista vs. Steele Canyon

The Monte Vista Monarchs will challenge the Steele Canyon Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Monte Vista will be strutting in after a win while Steele Canyon will be coming in after a defeat.

Steele Canyon better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if last week is any indication, that's when Monte Vista really get things going. Everything went Monte Vista's way against Valhalla on Wednesday as Monte Vista made off with a 4-1 victory. The result kept the Monarchs happy, as they haven't lost a game since December 16, 2024.

They hit Valhalla with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Bill Isaho, Jayden Cleveland, Damian Guerrero Paz, and Benjamin Salazar.

Meanwhile, Steele Canyon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They fell 2-0 to Santana.

Steele Canyon's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Monte Vista, they now have a winning record of 6-5-4.
