Baseball Game Preview: Bishop Carroll Huskies vs. Forest Hills Rangers

Bishop Carroll hasn't had much luck against Forest Hills recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Huskies will challenge the Rangers at 4:30 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Bishop Carroll's victory against Greater Johnstown wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Huskies sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over the Trojans on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Huskies have posted since April 23, 2024.

The team relied heavily on Will Tremel, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. That run marked the first that he scored this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cory Franceschini, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Forest Hills earned a 5-1 win over Somerset on Monday.

Chase Williamson made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Williamson was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.

Williamson wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Xander Richardson, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Forest Hills has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. Bishop Carroll's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-7.

Bishop Carroll skirted past Forest Hills 8-6 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Huskies since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
