Football Recap: Delta Piles Up the Points Against Carbon

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against South Sevier, Delta was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They blew past the Carbon Dinos 28-0. The Rabbits' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Jett Rawlinson had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 224 yards and four TDs while picking up 11.8 yards per carry. Those four rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Delta was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 421 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Delta didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Austin Stephenson, Jacen Johnson, and McCrae Wade picked up one apiece.

Delta's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Carbon, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-6.

Coming up, Delta will head out to challenge Grand County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rabbits will be up against the Red Devils' rather soft defense (which has allowed 60.75 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Carbon, they will be playing at home against Manti at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
