It was a good run, but Elgin unfortunately witnessed the end of their ten-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Stillwater Pioneers by a score of 8-7.

Tres Lorah and Lucas Young did some serious damage despite the final result: Lorah went 1-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Young went 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. That home run was Lorah's first of the season. Brody Morrison was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Elgin's defeat dropped their record down to 18-2. As for Stillwater, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-3.

Elgin and Stillwater should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings. The Owls will take on El Reno at 10:00 a.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (23 vs. 109). The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Elgin 1.9, the Indians 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Stillwater (ranked seventh) will meet Bartlesville (ranked 60th) at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
