Volleyball Recap: Ripley Takes Down Ranked South Charleston

Ripley faced South Charleston in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Vikings came out on top against the Black Eagles by a score of 2-0. This was a revenge game for the Vikings: when they faced off against the Black Eagles on Thursday, they had to take a 2-0 defeat.

Ripley easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-15.

Their offense was headlined by Tiffany Fisher and Braylinn Lutz, who picked up ten kills apiece. They got some help from Kaydence Sheppard and her 15 assists. Addison Howery controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

The win made it two in a row for Ripley and bumps their season record up to 4-1. As for South Charleston, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.

Ripley has already played their next contest, a 2-1 loss against St. Albans on the 30th. As for South Charleston, they will be playing at home against Hurricane at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
