Football Recap: Ore City Rebels vs. Union Grove Lions
Ore City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Union Grove Lions on the road and fell 45-14. The Rebels were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2023.
It was another big night for Jace Roberts, who rushed for 84 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries, and also threw for 251 yards and a touchdown while completing 76.9% of his passes for Union Grove. Roberts really tore up the turf during one magnificent 82-yard run.
Ore City's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Union Grove, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.
Ore City will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Elysian Fields at 7:00 p.m. on October 25th. Union Grove will also get a bit of a break before their next match: they'll face off against Harleton at 7:00 p.m. on October 25th.
