Softball Recap: Pompano Beach Has No Trouble Against Cypress Bay

Pompano Beach made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Cypress Bay, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Golden Tornadoes blew past the Lightning 15-5 on Monday. With that win, the Golden Tornadoes brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.

GABI OLIVER and MACAYLA RICE did most of the damage at the plate: OLIVER scored two runs while going 3-for-4, while RICE scored two runs while going 4-for-5. That's the most hits RICE has posted since back in February. CAMILA PUKYS was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Pompano Beach was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cypress Bay only posted a batting average of .231.

Pompano Beach moved to 8-8 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Cypress Bay, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8.

Looking ahead, Pompano Beach will head out on the road to square off against Taravella at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Cypress Bay, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Monarch at 6:00 p.m.
