Softball Recap: John Hay Comes Up Short

After soaring to 20 runs the game before, John Hay was a bit more limited in their game on Thursday. They lost 16-1 to the Rhodes Rams. The Hornets have struggled against the Rams recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Raegan Walker made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Constance Mallett also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

John Hay's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1-1 and their overall record down to 3-2-1. As for Rhodes, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. John Hay will take on Garrett Morgan at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rhodes, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Maple Heights at 5:00 p.m.
