Jacobs is 0-10 against Central since February of 2020 but things could change on Friday. The Jacobs Golden Eagles are taking a road trip to challenge the Central Rockets at 7:30 p.m. Jacobs is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.6 points per game this season.

Jacobs is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Hampshire on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Jacobs lost 72-49 to Hampshire. The Golden Eagles were down 67-41 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

The losing side was boosted by Ben Jurzak, who posted 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Emaan Thomas, who had ten points.

Meanwhile, Central earned a 54-43 win over Prairie Ridge on Tuesday. Given the Rockets' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 87th, while the Wolves are ranked 355th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Central is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season. As for Jacobs, their loss dropped their record down to 15-13.

Jacobs came up short against Central in their previous matchup back in January, falling 63-56. Can Jacobs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
