Basketball Game Preview: Walthill Blujays vs. Winside Wildcats

The Walthill Blujays will venture away from home to square off against the Winside Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Walthill is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Madison just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 44-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Dragons.

Meanwhile, Winside came up short against Omaha Nation on Tuesday, falling 55-33. The loss continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Chiefs: they've now lost three in a row.

Walthill's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Winside, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9.

Walthill didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Winside in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 57-53 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Walthill since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
