Baseball Recap: Long Beach Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game, Long Beach was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They skirted past the Pascagoula Panthers 7-5. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Caden Ahrens looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. Long Beach is 5-2 when Ahrens allows three or fewer hits, but 6-8 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Will Brady, who went 3-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in February. Walker Cooke was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

The win snapped Long Beach's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 11-10 record. As for Pascagoula, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-12.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Long Beach beat the Panthers by a score of 6-2 on Saturday.
