Recap: Oak Hall Eagles vs. Lafayette Hornets
The Oak Hall Eagles won the last time they faced the Lafayette Hornets, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Oak Hall blew past Lafayette 51-30. Given Oak Hall's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 37th, while Lafayette is ranked 192nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Several Hornets players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Amarie Fleming, who scored 9 points along with 6 rebounds. Jordan Murphy was another key contributor, scoring 8 points.
The win makes it two in a row for Oak Hall and bumps their season record up to 2-0. As for Lafayette, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oak Hall will take on Saint Francis Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Saint Francis Catholic focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Thursday. As for Lafayette, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Riverside Christian at 7:30 p.m.
