Baseball Preview: Sterling Silver Knights vs. Paulsboro Red Raiders
The Sterling Silver Knights will head out on the road to challenge the Paulsboro Red Raiders at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Sterling has ten straight victories, Paulsboro has nine straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Sterling let Cardinal O'Hara stack five runs on them in the fifth inning on Monday but luckily Sterling prevailed anyway. The Silver Knights won by a run and slipped past the Lions 6-5. While the Silver Knights didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Sterling got a great performance from Vaughn McVeigh as he pitched 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off nine hits.
