Baseball Recap: Caruthers Takes a Loss

If Caruthers was riding high fresh off their 14-3 takedown of West last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Blue Raiders came up short against the Exeter Monarchs on Tuesday, falling 9-1. The Blue Raiders haven't had much luck with the Monarchs recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Caruthers saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tony Moreno, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Moreno has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Caruthers' defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Exeter, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-5.

Caruthers has already played their next contest, an 11-1 win against Mira Monte on the 16th. As for Exeter, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 6-0 victory against Kern Valley on the 16th.
