Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Scituate). Everything went their way against Paul Cuffee on Wednesday as they made off with a 13-3 win. With that victory, the Spartans brought their scoring average up to 7 runs per game.
Quinn Liptrot and Jackson Scanlon were a major factor no matter where they played. Throwing, Liptrot pitched two innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run but no hits. Meanwhile, Scanlon tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave Liptrot a new career-high in strikeouts (four). At the plate, Liptrot scored a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances, while Scanlon went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that Scanlon hit this season.
In other batting news, Travis Howman was incredible, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024. Drew Hurley was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
