Basketball Recap: Atlantic Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Boynton Beach came into Monday's matchup looking for another win against Atlantic, but Taylor Pierre wouldn't allow it. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, the Eagles made off with a 43-42 win over the Tigers thanks in part to Pierre, who posted 25 points. That makes it ten consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Atlantic's points.

Another player making a difference was Lea Jean Joseph, who earned 11 points and five steals. She has become a key player for Atlantic: the team is 4-1 when she posts at least three steals, but 0-10 otherwise.

When it comes to explaining why Boynton Beach lost on Monday, don't look at A Nelams. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds. That was a full 40.5% of the Tigers' points, marking the third time in a row Nelams has put up more than a third of the team's points. J Thomas also deserves some recognition as she grabbed her first steal of the season.
