DePaul Catholic entered their tilt with Passaic Valley on Saturday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. They walked away with an 11-7 victory over the Hornets. This was a revenge game for the Spartans: when they faced off against the Hornets back in April, they had to take a 5-4 loss.

DePaul Catholic's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Passaic Valley, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 18-1.

DePaul Catholic and Passaic Valley should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings. The Spartans (ranked 38th) will meet Academy of the Holy A (ranked 176th) at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Passaic Valley will take on West Milford at 4:00 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (13 vs. 212).
