Volleyball Game Preview: Triad Cardinals vs. Fairbanks Panthers

Triad is 0-10 against Fairbanks since October of 2020 but things could change on Tuesday. The Cardinals will be playing at home against the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Triad will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Triad will bounce into Tuesday's match after beating West Jefferson, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Cardinals came out on top against the Roughriders by a score of 3-1 on Thursday.

If you add up the scores from across all four sets (89-87) Triad actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-19, 11-25, 26-24.

Elley Dorn was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had eight digs and two aces. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in assists (six).

Meanwhile, Fairbanks beat West Jefferson 3-1 on Monday.

Fairbanks walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the fourth set). The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-21, 22-25, 25-8.

Fairbanks' win bumped their record up to 16-4. As for Triad, their victory bumped their record up to 13-7.
