Softball Recap: West Albany Find Success

West Albany lost to Central back in April, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Bulldogs sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 victory over the Panthers. That's two games straight that the Bulldogs have won by exactly two runs.

Gabriella Young 2027 spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Macie Manning 2027, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and two doubles. Those two hits gave her a new career-high.

The win made it two in a row for West Albany and bumps their season record up to 9-13. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of two runs across that stretch. As for Central, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 14-6.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. West Albany is set to take on their familiar foe Silverton at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Central will square off against rival Crescent Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
