Softball Recap: Cortez Comes Up Short

After soaring to 11 runs the game before, Cortez was a bit more limited in their contest on Thursday. They lost 14-2 to the Yuma Criminals. The Colts haven't had much luck with the Criminals recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Cortez saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Breanna Alonzo, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Cortez's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Yuma, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-8.

Looking ahead, Cortez will head out to challenge Dysart at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The Colts will need to watch out since the Demons have now posted at least ten runs in their last six games. As for Yuma, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 9-7 victory against Tempe on the 20th.
