Basketball Recap: Gatlinburg-Pittman Highlanders vs. Eagleton College & Career Academy Royals

In what's become a running theme this season, the Gatlinburg-Pittman Highlanders gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Eagleton College & Career Academy 73-37 at home. The victory was familiar territory for Gatlinburg-Pittman who now have four in a row.

Leading Gatlinburg-Pittman to victory were Carlos Orr and Ty Glasper. Orr dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds, while Glasper scored 30 points along with four steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which Glasper has scored at least a third of Gatlinburg-Pittman's points. Charlie Yazel was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with two steals.

Gatlinburg-Pittman pushed their record up to 20-3 with that victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 28.3 points. As for Eagleton College & Career Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gatlinburg-Pittman will take on the Tornadoes at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Alcoa knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 13 matches -- so hopefully the Highlanders like a good challenge. As for Eagleton College & Career Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge the Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
