Baseball Game Preview: Roosevelt Eagles vs. Muleshoe Mules

Roosevelt is 1-7 against Muleshoe since March of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the Mules at 11:00 a.m. Roosevelt is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.

Roosevelt will bounce into Friday's game after beating Idalou, who they had gone 0-7 against in their seven prior meetings. The Eagles narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Wildcats 6-4.

The team relied heavily on Ryan Bradshaw, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs. Roosevelt is 5-1 when Bradshaw posts two or more runs, but 6-8-1 otherwise. Michael Pena was another key player, earning one run and three stolen bases.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Roosevelt kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 5-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Meanwhile, Muleshoe can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They came out on top against Friona by a score of 8-5.

Roosevelt's record now sits at 11-9-1. As for Muleshoe, their record is now 8-9.

Roosevelt couldn't quite finish off Muleshoe when the teams last played back in March and fell 5-3. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
