Soccer Game Preview: Newcastle vs. Bethany

The Newcastle Racers will venture away from home to face off against the Bethany Bronchos at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Newcastle barely beat Elk City the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Racers never let the Elks get on the board and left with a 7-0 win on Monday. Considering Newcastle have won seven contests by more than two goals this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Bethany entered their tilt with Chickasha on Monday with 12 consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with 13. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Fighting Chicks. That's two games straight that Bethany have won by just one goal.

Newcastle pushed their record up to 11-3 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 43 goals over those six games. As for Bethany, their victory bumped their record up to 14-3.

Newcastle might still be hurting after the 4-0 loss they got from Bethany in their previous meeting back in March of 2023. Can the Racers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
