Softball Recap: Eastchester Triumphs

The Eastchester Eagles narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Voorheesville Blackbirds 6-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Sabrina Cosgrove was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kylie Reardon, who went 3-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. Elianna Baez was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Eastchester's record now sits at 13-2. As for Voorheesville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.

Eastchester has already played their next matchup, a 13-5 win against Bloomfield on the 9th. Voorheesville has also already played their next contest (against Dobbs Ferry), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
