Softball Recap: Winamac's Winning Streak Snapped at Eight Games

Winamac dropped their record down to 11-2 on Thursday, which also ended the team's eight-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Logansport Berries, falling 12-2. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Warriors, who until this matchup were averaging 3.69 runs allowed.

Winamac saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Adrianna Hall, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

As for Logansport, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-2. Considering they have won seven games by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

On Logansport's side, Maddy Baumgardner tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits.

On the hitting side, Logansport let Natalee Packard and Gracie Risley run wild. Packard went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles, while Risley went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most doubles Packard has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrienne Scott, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Coming up, Winamac will look to defend their home field on Friday against North Newton at 5:30 p.m. The Warriors are on a 12-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), the Spartans a four-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind. As for Logansport, they will head out to square off against Peru at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
