Recap: Sandusky Blue Streaks vs. Bellevue Redmen
It was a good run, but the Sandusky Blue Streaks unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 58-50 to Bellevue. While losing is never fun, Sandusky can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 319th, while Bellevue is ranked 152nd).
Sandusky lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Devareya Rice, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Rice has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. Another player making a difference was Mae Rameau, who scored eight points along with six steals and five rebounds.
Sandusky's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Bellevue, their win bumped their record up to 7-5.
Sandusky will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Ashland at 7:15 p.m. on January 10th. Hopefully Ashland focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Saturday. As for Bellevue, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Willard at 7:15 p.m. Willard is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
