Softball Recap: Brookville Bees vs. Dan River Wildcats
Brookville proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by ten) but on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 victory over the Dan River Wildcats. For Brookville, this counts as revenge for the 9-8 defeat Dan River walked away with the last time they faced one another on May 2nd.
Mattie O'Daniel spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive pitching appearances.
