Basketball Recap: Tipton Comes Up Short

Tipton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat. They came up short against the West Lafayette Red Devils, falling 46-22. The Blue Devils were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-12.

Mackenzie Farinella was Tipton's leading scorer, having posted 11 points. Farinella also led the team in rebounds with nine. Makayla Schinlaub took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.

Molly Andrew had an outrageously good game for West Lafayette as she went 6 of 15 en route to 16 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Andrew has scored at least a third of West Lafayette's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Amaya St. Hilaire, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine boards.

Tipton's loss dropped their record down to 2-18. As for West Lafayette, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-14.

Tipton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 59-18 defeat against Kokomo on the 27th. As for West Lafayette, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 71-32 loss against McCutcheon on the 28th.
