Baseball Recap: East Burke Finds Home Field Redemption Against Lincolnton

There's no place like home for East Burke, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They walked away with a 6-3 win over the Lincolnton Wolves on Tuesday. While the Cavaliers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

The team relied heavily on Rhett Houston, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI and one double. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. Mason Mosteller was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

East Burke pushed their record up to 6-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for Lincolnton, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Burke will venture away from home to square off against West Lincoln at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lincolnton, they will head out to take on Patton at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lincolnton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.
