Recap: Ascend Leadership Aviators vs. Southern Wake Academy Lions
This season hasn't been kind to the Ascend Leadership Aviators, who are still winless after their 11th match. They were beaten by Southern Wake Academy 85-11 on Wednesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Ascend Leadership has scored all season.
Chris Crudup continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Southern Wake Academy, scoring 22 points along with seven steals and five assists. Crudup has been hot recently, having posted four or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Rechetnikov, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Ascend Leadership's defeat was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Southern Wake Academy, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-9.
Ascend Leadership will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Southern Wake Academy is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Aviators in North Carolina (the Lions are ranked 188th, while the Aviators are ranked 693rd). As for Southern Wake Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against the Aviators at 7:30 p.m.
