Baseball Recap: Bosque Comes Up Short

After soaring to 15 runs the game before, Bosque was a bit more limited in their matchup on Saturday. They fell 7-2 to the East Mountain Timberwolves. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Timberwolves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 23-2 back in April.

Tas Lupo was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He struck out six batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Lupo was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Aiden Carranza was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, one triple, and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Bosque and nudges their season record down to 4-21. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for East Mountain, they are on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 18 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season.

While Bosque had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
