Softball Recap: East Prairie Eagles vs. Senath-Hornersville Lions
East Prairie had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They had just enough and edged out the Senath-Hornersville Lions 13-12.
Chloe Jackson was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Sophia Jordan, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.
Jackson wasn't the only one working in the hit department: East Prairie kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Senath-Hornersville only managed six hits.
Senath-Hornersville is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Prairie will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Meadow Heights at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Senath-Hornersville, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Senath-Hornersville Lions face off against Risco Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
