Baseball Recap: Cherokee Takes a Loss

Cherokee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 21st straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 23-2 to the Tharptown Wildcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Indians of the 18-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

Cherokee saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Weslee Cosgrove, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and one run.

Cherokee's record is now 0-14. As for Tharptown, the victory snapped their losing streak at seven games and leaves them with a 4-10 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cherokee will welcome Covenant Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Tharptown, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Sheffield at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
