Basketball Game Preview: Hilltop Christian Chargers vs. Greenville Christian Academy Knights

Hilltop Christian is 9-1 against Greenville Christian Academy since December of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. Having just played yesterday, the Chargers will jump right back in to play the Knights at 1:30 p.m. Hilltop Christian will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

On Friday, Hilltop Christian earned a 40-28 victory over TEACH Homeschool.

Hilltop Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Joseph McCabe led the charge by dropping a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds. The Chargers are 2-1 when McCabe posts 15 or more points, but 2-3 otherwise. Ezra Passineau also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Meanwhile, Greenville Christian Academy hadn't done well against New Bern Christian Academy recently (they were 0-7 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Knights came out on top in a nail-biter against New Bern Christian Academy, sneaking past 43-40. The 43-point effort marked the Knights' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Hilltop Christian better keep an eye on Jonathan Williams. He was instrumental in Greenville Christian Academy's win, going 7-for-17 to rack up 23 points. Eli Suggs was another key player, putting up ten points and five steals.

Greenville Christian Academy now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Hilltop Christian, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Hilltop Christian strolled past Greenville Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in February by a score of 43-25. Will the Chargers repeat their success, or do the Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
