Volleyball Recap: Acadiana Home School Athletics Starts Season with Win Against Southwest Louisiana Homeschool

Acadiana Home School Athletics had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They had just enough and edged out Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool 2-1. For the Commandos, this counts as revenge for the 3-0 victory Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Acadiana Home School Athletics got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 20-25, 15-5.

Acadiana Home School Athletics got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Emily Mader out in front who had nine aces and five kills. Mader has been hot for a while, having posted two or more aces the last 11 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Julia West, who had nine kills and five aces.

Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Acadiana Home School Athletics wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 victory against Lake Area HomeSchool Sports on the 8th. Hopefully Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool paid attention to Acadiana Home School Athletics' game: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on Acadiana Home School Athletics at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
